I just bought a ZT0300bw. Now Ive been sharpening all my knives with a lansky 5 stone system with the clamp in guide rods which has done pretty well for me so far. The lansky stones are about a half inch wide. My question is can I still use the lansky with the zt's recurve blade. I've never sharpened a recurve blade before and I just want to know will the lansky do the job and if not what would you recommend as a replacement. Thanks in advance for any info or suggestions.

I don't use a guide system so I don't know how well it will work with the zt. I do know you can sharpen it freehand on narrow stones like the lansky, I use a dmt duofold to sharpen mine then a couple strokes on a ceramic rod.

You can sharpen recurve blades just fine on a Lanski. Most of the clamp based systems are similar in that the stones pivot from a specific point where they attach, so a Lanski will sharpen recurved blades about as well as any clamp system.
