Sharpening Question

I recently got an Edge Pro and after a bit of a learning curve, I've been able to get a number of my knives to easy hair shaving sharpness, which is sufficient for my needs. I've had no problem on steels ranging from H1 and VG-10 to 20CV/M390 and 3V.

The exception is a Benchmade 940-2 in S30V. I have another 940 in 20CV that I had no problem with but I just can't get the one in S30V to anything more than just barely scraping hair off my arm. I used an edge cube and set each knife 20 degrees a side. I feel like that maybe I'm just not getting the burr off but I've tried several different methods I read about and they worked on my other knives.

Is there something I'm missing here? Is it that S30V produces a hard to remove burr or is it something else? This is my only knife in S30V so I have nothing to compare it to.

Thanks for any suggestions.

My guess is that you are not fully apexing the edge.
It may very well be harder than your other knives and just needs more time on stones.

One of the most difficult knives I ever reprofiled was an Adamas in D2, it took way longer than any of my high vanadium knives.

I suggest keep grinding and check edge under magnification.

Run the edge on hard wood lightly.
If you see shiny spots under sunlight after that, then you might have had remaining burrs./
This works for me on a hard to remove bur. Hold the edge perpendicular to a piece of wood, lightly draw the knife.
