Sharpening question

Hi.

I ordered a Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener. I haven't received it yet but my question is which diamond plate (fine or coarse) should I use at first if I have a tiny/minuscule chips in the blade (S30V)? If the chips are barely noticeable then fine should be enough and coarse should be used only for big chips or what is the common knowledge regarding this?

Coarse. Even tiny chips require removing a good amount of material, which takes a long time with fine grit. Fine will get you there eventually, but S30V is hard stuff, and your time is better spent working from coarse to fine.
