For re-sharpening purposes (on a flat ground AR) it would be helpful to know the angle of the edge.
Also, any sharpening tips are welcome.

Harrydog,
We asked this before, and what we heard was that it varies depending on the knife. Best thing is to line up beforehand and see how the stone fits on the blade.
Good luck.

Take a black marker and color the edge on your knife. Then take a few strokes on your sharpening righ. if you have matched the edge angle just right, the black should all be going away. If you are at too obtuse of an angle (too thick), the black will have been removed at the "bottom" part of the edge but not the top. If youa re too shallow, the black will have been removed at the "top" of the edge, but the bottom will still be black. Good Luck!

Oh, what sharpening gear do you have? Knowing this will help a lot.

O.k., here's a few more details for you. I don't have an Edge Pro, but I think I know enough about how it works to help.

To get the same angle, do 2 things. Do the magic marker thing, and eyeball the angle at first. Take a swipe with the stone, and check to see if you got the angle right, as per my magic marker instructions. Then adjust the angle of your rig as needed.

Good luck!

Hmm.. AR and an Edge pro: you have good gear man!
