sharpening question

I have two wheel system from Grizly. I can get the knife pretty sharp on the main wheel but when I polish the blade on the other wheel it gets duller, not sharper, what am I doing wrong?

Not being familiar with the sharpening system you mention, I won't be much help.

Is the second wheel a buffer? Paper, perhaps? If it's anything but hard, you'll wanna be sure to "pull" the blade. the action of the wheel should be from spine to edge, like stropping.

The mental picture of hitting a buffing wheel edge on with a sharp blade is pretty graphic. Ouch.
