Sharpening question

Reggie does his like I do mine, and yes, you can do that on a stock removal knife. It is flat ground with a convex edge that extends well up into the blade. It is a long slow arc. After the edge is sharp and the blade is tested (Reggie and I test all blades before starting the final finish), the hand-rubbed finish is done.

Before the knife is shipped out Reggie touches the edge up on a stone and strops. That's why you don't see any shiny flat edge bevels or grind lines. The stone only touches the very tip of the convex edge.
