Sharpening Question

I own 3 DMT Diamond Whetstones:

325 mesh

600 mesh

1200 mesh

My question is, is this sufficient for my knife sharpening needs keeping in mind that I don't need a light saber sharp knife, just a practical use sharp knife. Thanks y'all!!

Oh, a Caveat here, I'm no expert at either sharpening or knives, just very interested and wanting to learn more about both.

That should be all you'll ever need. Add a strop treated with chromium oxide green paste if you want for a super polished edge, but it's not really necessary.

If all you really want is a practical, useable edge, that set up should work extremely well.

I'd say you have more than you need for a general use edge.

That's plenty. Though if you either buy a lot of knives or like to have a lower edge bevel you might want to consider a DMT XX Coarse stone to speed things up.
