sharpening question

Has anyone used a Work Sharp to put a convex edge on an ESEE4 and sharpen a BRKT Gunny? I have only done free hand on a 8" stone (leather on BR) but just borowed a friends and it was nice on kitchen knives and it is small and portable. I dont want to mess up my "good" knives though.
