it's the "step" from the tip to the primary cutting edge that's got me intimidated...i cant do it on an edgepro because the stones are wide and i'm afraid of "gouging" the edge. i dont want to use a lansky or a gatco because the clamps scratch the blade...dont get me wrong,i use the knife,i just want to sharpen it right...any suggestions?.....respects.

I would use the ceramic rods until it gets too bad, and then send her back to R.J. for the professional job later.

Try as I may, I just can't use the words R.J. Martin and dull in the same sentence without feeling weird. They just don't go together. :)

Cupcake: A Spyderco sharpmaker will handle both edges-Do the tip on the flats of the rods, the recurve on the rounded corners.
Clamp-on sharpeners won't scratch if you put adhesive tape on the blade first.
Send it back to me-I'll take care of it for free. Just enclose $15 for 2 day FEDEX delivery and send to:

I bet I can get it sharper than you can...<G>

thanks everybody!...Mr.Martin,i gotta tell you, that knife is the finest EDC i've ever had.i honestly believe that whatever the task it'll never let me down...thankyou sir!

This is good information in the event a certain left-handed Avenger makes it's way to my doorstep sometime in the future, which I hope will be Near future.

:)

hint hint, wink wink.

Edited to add: DUH! I thought I saw the word Avenger at the top of the thread, not Rampage. Just goes to show where my mind's been.
