Has anyone with a 560cbcf tried to sharpen the blade on their knife yet ? Not that it really needs it. I know that s110v is quite toothy.

I had a Shallot in s110v, the blade on the 560 feels about the just about like the blade on my Shallot.

If you have sharpened your blade did you use a diamond sharpener ? No diamonds, what did you use and did it get the blade much sharper ?

All I have is a Sharpmaker with the regular rods and a course diamond rod.

I've sharpened S110V, S90V, 3V, and other scary steels pretty easily with guided systems. I tried with a medium India stone and it was a good learning experience. In short, not a problem. ;)

Ok,

Just finished at the 2k stone on the relief mirror bevel.

Progression thus far:

Atoma 140#/400#/600#/1 200#

Ohmura 150# to remove diamond scratch pattern

Shapton GS 1k/2k spritzed with 1µ Poly diamond spray

...time so far.....3hours 15minutes....

Still got the 4k/8k/16k/30k to go.....giving the fingers a break.....

2k Finish:

My fingers hurt bad now.....

Very impressive. Very impressive indeed.

Aesthetically, I don't think a mirror edge on the beadblast CB is the most appropriate combination though. Killer work though.

I did mine on the wicked edge, reprofiled it down to 30 degrees inclusive. It is noticably harder to sharpen than elmax but took an awesome edge. And don't listen to stick mirror edge is always beautiful :)

Took mine to 18 degrees per side with 20 degree per side micro bevel - will check performance & possibly drop it depending......

Rather safe than sorry......

Got some pics Brent...?

:)

Nothing really up close just this one, i only have doewn to 3.5 micron diamond paste as of now so it reflects magazine text but there are small visible scratches when you look closely.

Thx for the picture Brent - looks really good.

Love the puppy as well - have 5 dogs of my own.
