Well, to start, stropping compounds are for polishing and finishing the edge... sharpening needs to happen long before the strop. The strop will bring back a slightly dulled edge (i.e. Lost that shaving sharpness but still takes a hair or two) but it will become more and more rounded at the apex the more you strop the used edge.
As for the compounds, S35VN contains Vanadium and Niobium which are both very hard carbides, harder than the abrasive used in the black and green compounds. Diamond or CBN compounds are your only options here.
