Hi, anybody have info on sharpening the blades on electric sheep shears? web sites, old threads, etc. ...............?Thanks

I know how I would do it but not sure how to explain. The mating surfaces must be kept absolutely flat. I hone the mating surfaces on a big diamond plate, you could use wet/dri paper glued to a glass plate. Start with 360 if they are very dull, then 600, 1200 and finish on a wide flat leather charged with polishing compound.

The whole blade is usually a bit concave to allow pressure to be applied to the cutting surfaces. Don't hone the whole blade, just the cutting face/mating surface.

I'm sorry it is hard for me to describe without pictures.

Hope you got it sorted, there are lots of ways to grind gear and no offense to frugalweaver but I have no idea what you mean if you are using the combs and cutters like we do here. We use an electric grinder, 1 side coarse and one side fine paper.
But, assuming you are not in Australia, everyone is different and thats cool as long as it works.

chewbacka,
I don't sharpen clipper blades but I know a little about the subject to speak on it. From what I understand both the cutter and the comb should be hollow (not flat) ground. I believe this is done to allow for residual hair to move between the blades and to reduce friction.

If you're looking for a company to service your blades here are two of the best out there....
