Hi everyone. I have an SM100 folder (Ferrum Forge Stinger) that needs an edge touch up. SM100 is a titanium nickel alloy and not steel, and I know it has some unusual properties when it comes to sharpening. If anyone has any experience sharpening blades in this material, I'd love to hear about it and any tips you may have for sharpening.

I have KME diamond stones up to 1500 grit (I generally freehand sharpen despite having a KME), and Japanese King ceramic water stones in 3000/6000 grit. I'm hoping this is enough to get it done, else I may have to send it out to a professional.

It's unlike sharpening steel. You would be best to ask ffkw. There sharpener has made some vids discussing how he had to go about it. Check out his channel if you need Micheal Emler

I know Mike, he's done some sharpening and refinishing for me. And I met him in person earlier this year (sent him a knife for work, and I arranged to collect from him while I was in the area). I know Mike can sharpen it for me, and he'll be the guy I turn to if I can't handle it with the stuff I have at home. I just feel that I should eventually learn to sharpen all my knives myself.

I'll check out his videos on SM100. Thanks.
