At the great risk of sounding like a simpleton, I ask this question:Is the Sharpmaker a good tool for sharpening the serrated Spyderco knives? My experience is that they seldom need sharpening unless used hard, but the ones I have now are plain, and I feel the urge to buy a fully serrated one.I use a Sharpmaker for most sharpening tasks, and just want to know if it is the best for the Spyderco serrations. Thanks!

I sure think so. The manual that comes with the Sharpmaker gives you a couple of ways of doing serrations, one of which is the Spyderco recommended way. I don`t think you could go wrong with the new Sharpmaker.

My sharpmaker worked great on my large Wegner 40-60. I dulled it cutting boxes after the move. Serrations took a beating. Just follow the manual.

I have heard from a local dealer that a couple of his civil servant friends use the Sharpmaker regularly on serrations and that it works perfectly.

I have sharpened a couple of serrated knives with mine and have been quite pleased.
