I've a ray Mears GB
Looking for one stone I can use at home and in the field.
I don't want it to break, so maybe a container ood sorts.
Water stone/synthetic ok.
Don't want it to heavy.
A combo is fine.
Affordable is key, but quality is #1
I'd also like to use a hand held sharpening method. Axe in one hand, stone in other.
Thank you.

I use the BYXCO Artic Fox Sportsman's Puck ... it's the same mentioned in Old Biker's post above. Works great.

The Arctic Fox puck should serve well. The grit combo was designed to complement a file for rapid field sharpening, and can be used with water or oil according to your preference. They come with a heavy duty storage bag to keep dust off the damp stone or oil off the inside of your pack, and they're quite durable so don't need more protection than that.
