Hello everyone! I've surfed this website for a long time without signing up, but here i am today, this is my first post!
The other day i was watching this guy on youtube, he basically does tool restauration, the sharpening stones he uses caught my attention and i can't seem to contact him nor find the stones online.
Here's the video, he uses the stones at 2 minutes 20seconds mark.
If someone could help me identify the exact stone i would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance!
Here is the video

hello thanks for your reply!
The yellow norton stone is a 8000 stone, it's very unlikely that he sharpened a chisel on an 8000 stone, I'm thinking this could be some japanese stone.
thanks again,

In the past he has other videos(now deleted) in which the stone had japanese letters, i'm prettt sure they're japanese.

thanks guys!

It looks a lot like this one. The only reason to think it isn't, is that the 8k is slow wearing compared to the 4k, and the hatchet sharpening the yellow side looks a lot thinner than the 4k, although maybe he just doesn't like the 4k. The Norton 8k is a real nice stone.

Well here are some other yellow and white combination stones. Good luck with your search.

thanks for your efforts guys!

I know you are out there, guy who knows what stone this is.

Does it matter ? The Norton 8,000 is going to be AT LEAST as good as the one he is using.
Perhaps better. It's one of my favorite stones.
He's not a wood worker is he.
A draw knife is the way to shape that handle.
Do dry the handle in a kiln to less than ambient humidity before fitting the handle to the head. I would even go so far as to say there is no need for the glue on the wedge but I don't know axe craft.
