Sharpening stone with rounded edges?

I have noticed that my knives get scratches on the tip from sharpening, on the "away" stroke as the tip slides off the edge of the stone.

Has anyone ever seen a stone with rounded edges to avoid this problem. The rounded corners would also allow sharpening of recurved blades.

Yes, there are some the LIKE scratches on their blades, but I like to keep my light use knives pristine if possible to keep their resale value up there.

I don't think it is a good idea to let the tip slide off the stone. I believe that tends to blunt/round it. Try stopping your stroke before the tip reaches the end.

Spyderco makes some ceramics ones that are shaped like that, I believe.
