sharpening supplies?

I've been using my SH-E and Bag3 and Basic 3 enough that I now need to sharpen them

I know that this subject has been covered extensively, but I have to ask anyway.
I'm going to order some supplies. Should I be getting one of those sharpening steels if so what length do you guys find to be best?
Or should I just get a leather strop(2 sided?) and use different compounds? Also what lengths?
I see that Lee Valley and Hand American are recommended highly.
Any suggestions?

Two sided ones are the better bet. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the link. The ceramic rod looks like it would be a good choice.

Drag gently and frequently on that ceramic rod. Use ajax or equivalent to clean the rod form time to time and strop the other side once in a while on a Flitz charged strop and you'll be fine. Trick is to keep it keen and avoid intense sessions of metal removal.
