I am having a hard time sharpening my BK-9. I use EZ lap products and leather belts. I am a novice ,so i think that answers my question. Give me advice. The metal and edge grind are a little weird in my opinion.

I don't know about EZ lap products, but I know the spyderco sharpmaker works awesomely
and I know mouse pad & sandpaper and stropping thanks to all the great advise here at bladeforums.

Never was totaly satisfied with my Lansky kit either, although it can really get things done quickly. I'm thinking Spyderco also.

have no advice for a sharpening system, however I have a little sharpening experience all free hand.. pending your preference you can continue with factory grind 'v' shape and use some quality Arkansas stones or profile a convex as mentioned above with sandpaper.. and if you are still having trouble but want an AWESOME edge, send it the RichardJ here on the forums hes a pro and will fix you up very reasonably..

lots of options.

good luck!!

EDIT: just noticed you maybe in my neck of the woods, if you're still having trouble and would like to come over I'll give it a convex edge for free..
