Anyone attempt this yet?
It looks like it might take some patience to do right !
What were the results?
Any helpful observations?
regards,Rick.

Well Rick I have but it has been more of a tune up of an already sharp blade. I have not yet had to totally reprofile it or do any heavy duty sharpening on it. But I usually use the Spyderco 204 ULTRA FINE stones and they tune it up great.

Actually so far I am finding it more of a challenge to strop it  IT has a blade geometry and style like none I've yet to see before. But that is one of things I really love about the CAptain. IT is truly a new concept in cutlery. I would give a pretty nickel to set down some day and talk to the designer of the Captain >> Jason Breeden.

This knife is much more versatile than people give it credit for and on the flip side it is going to be quite a challenge to keep it sharp.

Man am I glad you started this thread. I sure hope that Joe Talmadge and Ed SChempp both chime in on this one.

Hello,

on my own experience
the Captain is very easy to sharp in free hands with my good old round ceramic rod (a 12 years old Lansky...)

I do it gently and the VG10 hollow ground blade get wicked sharp.

I give more attention on the tip which can hit hard surface but all in all the Captain is very easy to keep sharp.
No big deal really.

Cheers
Nemo
