Hi,

with lots of throwing the points on my crap practice knives are starting to be less like points and more like friendly round tips...how do I sharpen just the tip of a knife? Thanks!

What I do is use a stone grinder to reshape the tip. It doesn't have to be needle sharp or anything since you are applying a lot of force to the throw to aid it in penetration. So, just try to bring it back to its old shape. I broke the tip off of one of my knives once (about half an inch) and ended up with a flat square end that I had to reshape. Since I lost lots of material, a grinder is a godsend.

If the tip still retained its shape and you just want to make it a little bit sharper, you could use a sharpening stone. The kind you get in hardware stores with two sides. You could sharpen it that way as well.
