Does anybody have any good advice for doing this? I'm currently sharpening a karambit using a Big John Super Stick™ Ceramic Sharpening Rod, and the tip is giving me a little difficulty it seems. Does anybody have any good tips (haha)?

I have had some success sharpening the points on Hawkbills using Spyderco's specialty files. They make a set of ceramic files known as the 701 Profile. I find the radius part of the file to contour nicely with the point of most Hawkbills. I will admit however I have never yet sharpened a Karambit which has a bit more of an extreme hook to it. But I am sure the principle would be the same. Good Luck and I am looking forward to other replies on this one. JD
