Hello to you all.
I have a large Sebenza and I usually sharpen it with
a spyderco 204 sharpmaker. It works fine for the straight
part of the edge, but it is not very efficient near the
tip of the blade ( very simplified picture: ___/ ):
I cannot get the / part as sharp as the ____ part.
Something is certainly wrong with the way I use the sharpener:
I simply hold the blade horizontal and do as if I'd want to slice
the stones. Doing that, I assume that when I reach the / portion
of the blade, the angle is not preserved. Can someone tell me
what the correct way to sharpen this portion of the blade is ?
Regards,
François.

I use the same sharpener. First, and I'm sure you do, make sure you are using the correct angle on the 204. There is a 30 and a 40 or what really is as 15 and 20 degree angle. Use the 30.
What I do that seems to work for the tip; is once I get to the angled part of the blade, kind of pull the back of the knife up and back. Thus following the curve of the blade. Some will even tell you to angle the edge slightly out when getting to the curved and tip of the blade.
Unfortunatly you are in France and can't send it to Chris for a free sharpening.:(

I do the exact same thing and have great results. You might even try using the corners of the stones and then finish up on the flats.
