Can you share ideas how to sharp two handed CS Panga machete ?
(16" 1055 blade)
Cheap and uniform way, please :^D
Thanks

For my machetes I've used water stones, diamond stones, ceramic rods, 1x30 grinder, 2x72 grinder.

All work.

The best thing about machetes is the steel is typically soft, and easy to sharpen

Start with a large mill file. Wear gloves and/or put it in a large dowel for a handle.

Clamp the machete to the corner of your workbench, elevate it with scrap wood to clear the handle thickness.

Take your time and file in a bevel. Flip and repeat. You can leave it file-sharp or take it to whatever stones or wet/dry sandpaper you have on hand. Finish stropping it on paper wrapped around a brick
.

This is interesting and works on big knives, especially if you want a convex edge. Helps to have a worn stone with a sway back, LOL. Notice the shallow angle ... probably too sharp for a soft, beater machete. I learned how to sharpen these when I lived there for a few years 40+ years ago. Those hand-forged knives cost about $3. back then.
