sharpening vanadis4?

I've read that CPM 4v and 3V are comparable. You may want to see if Ankerson has tested it on his knife steel thread. I've got a Big Chris knife in 4v and haven't sharpened it yet.
 
Just get a diamond sharpener ,otherwise it's just frustration . Get something like a 1200 grit and occasionally touch up as necessary. If you don't have any diamond you might alsoget a coarser one for reshaping, I fine one gives you a fine serrated edge , very good for those alloys !!
 
Moving to MTE, where sharpening questions belong.
The technique is the same as all other steel, it's not going to take days or weeks. If it takes you any longer than say 60 minutes to sharpen it you might reconsider your technique and/or given choice of equipment.
