^ This is a pretty entertaining video from Rob at deermeatfordinner. He demonstrates some sharpening techniques (using his favored Silver Stag fixed blades in D2 steel), including honing the edge on the top of a truck window (I've done this, and it's a great way to maintain your edge when you're on the road, away from your sharpening gear).

Perhaps more interesting for us traditional codgers, he meets up with a buddy who's a farmer in south Florida (right near where I grew up). You can go here to skip ahead to this part. His bud shows off his large Case stockman (in CV steel), and demonstrates how he keeps up the edge with a little wallet-sized diamond card hone. Viewers get a nice close-up, and the knife looks well worn and well cared for.

Deer meat for dinner is such a great channel/show. I like watching when I cant go out hunting or fishing. I cant watch too much or Id buy more Silver Stags though lol. I have one already, and they really do make a great knife.
That Stockman is one well used knife! That blade is getting pretty needle like.
