Sharpening Winkler Belt Knife

I am thinking of buying a Winkler 2 Belt knife
I've noticed in some pictures that the blade looks like it has a slight recurve. If so, does this pose a challenge to sharpen the blade?
Those of you who have this blade - what sharpening technique/equipment do you use?

I just got mine and it needed sharpening. Using a spyderco sharp maker with 30 degree gets it utility sharp but not much more. Emailed Dan and he uses (of corse 😉) a wicked edge to do his and offered free sharpening if mailed in. I know I do, and I'm sure you do as well, but I want to be able to sharpen my belt knife on my own and get it shaving sharp. Unfortunately all I have right now is a spiderco-sharpmaker. So if there's anyone out there that has this blade please comment thanks
 
A Coarse/Fine Norton India, Crystolon, or DMT comes to mind.

The SM is good for thin pocket knives but on thicker belt knives you need stones. Any of the ones I mentioned will make the task much easier.

And yes, I've seen the recurve on every winkler I have ever seen/handled.
 
I personally love DMT plates for everything I can use 'em for. I have the little credit card three-plate set that rides around in my wallet. It's AMAZING how often I end up pulling those out, almost without fail to fix a knife for a friend, or to put an edge to a tool I'm trying to use.
 
Mine came from the factory with a great edge, seemed to have a mirror polish (not toothy). I too added a sharpmaker 30 micro-bevel out of the box and wouldn't dream of putting it on the Ken Onion Worksharp (3/4" belt sharpener) as the instructions specifically says avoid machine sharpening.

If Mr Winklers staff will do touch ups I'd likely send it on a trip to Boone, NC for a spa day.
