Hello there

After i bought my first expensive fixed blade, i figured that i needed something to be able to sharpen my blade. And as i suck at free hand sharpening i needed something to aid me. So i started to look for guided sharpening systems and found (through blade forums) that there is basicley two systems out there, "The Wiked edge" and "Edge pro apex".

I watched every video out there about the 2 diffrent systems and desided to go with the edge pro apex as i found a re-seller here in sweden (kit 4). I do realise the wiked edge might have been abit easyer to use. But what usaly seems to make the sharpening abit harder is if the orginal angle is shifting on the sides or towards the tip. Kitchen knifes are very very easy to sharpen, well atleest the 4 kitchen knives i practiced on (cheap ikea knives, large to small).

Strider
My friend wanted to go 20 (strider has 22.5 orginal i think) degres angle on this, so i went through all the stones. with the 20 degrees edge, it shaves and cut papper like nothing. And here on the picture its cuting through a leather belt and it goes through like it was made of butter, barley puting any force onto it.

(120 - 1000 and 2k+3k paper was used)

Crusader forge
The CF was abit more tricky than he strider to sharpen as the angle was changing towards the tip. It is shaving sharp but cutting papper and belt needs abit more work (finding right angle towards what you cuting) as the angle is quite steep.

crusader forge has pretty blocky bevels & thick stock. to really see how fantastic triple tempered s30 at 60 r.r. is you need a semi krien grind.--dennis

Yeah you are prob right Dennis, it quite bulky its a pain to find good angle againts the cut, althou it chops like a charm and widles wood quite nice.
Hade no clue about krien grinds, Thanks !

After looking up on him, he seems to be very popular here and does some amazing magic on the grinds and sharpening. To bad he isent here in sweden :( would have sent the blade's to him instantly.
