When using the Sharpmaker 204 which angle do you use to keep your Sebenza sharp, the 30 or 40 overall? Thanks in advance.

Hi Erik, I'm really not sure. I could be wrong but I'm under the impression that Chris sets the edge at 20 and I know the sharpmaker is set at 30 and 40. I have heard that Chris recomends using the sharpmaker to sharpen his knives. Lets see what the experts say!:)

Agreed, 40 puts a strong razor sharp edge on the blade. I use 40 for all my knives and find it to be a very good angle for all around utility. Can't wait till they come out with the new diamond triangular hones for reprofiling.

Thanks for the info. So as I understand it using the 40 degree angle can give me an edge equal to the factory edge in sharpness?

I am also guessing that no matter what angle chosen it will eventually tranform the convex factory grind into a flat gind. Is the only way to get the convex grind back to send the knife back for regrinding? Is their any great difference between the convex and flat grind fpr utility use on this knife? Thanks again.

Erik
