What is the best way/system to sharpen ats 34 steel both double hollow and chisel ground. I use a lansky but should I switch to diamond. I spoke to Greg Lightfoot and he said to use 150 grit sandpaper on a sander. Thoughts

Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker 204 and a Lansky mini Crock-stick for field touch-ups. They're the best!.

I use a Lansky Diamond sharpening system with good results. I start with the extra course to establish the edge, once accomplished, I use the finer stones as recommended. I found that the Landsky system even though fairly simple, still requires practice to really get the feel of it. I sharpen all my friends knives and find I get better with this system all the time. Once the desired initial edge is obtained, it will resharpen very quickly from then on. Sometimes it does take a while to get that initial edge, and you just have to plug away until the desired result is obtained.

Thanks, guys....I ordered a Coarse diamond hone for my Lansky....I will let you know how it went...I still want to know if anyone uses a machine of some type to sharpen.
