Happy holidays!!
I've got a real simple question. Is there a trick to sharpening a Leatherman Micra on the 204? The jaws dont open wide enough to use the proper techniques. I got it done by using the brown rod like a file, holding the tool steady and moving the rod.
thanks for any ideas.

If the scissors doesn't open more than 60 degrees (the stones are equilateral triangle rods) I don't see how you can sharpen it the way that the 204 instructions ask you to.
Have you try to just to sharpen with the flats at the scissors slot of the 204? I think it might slip by... otherwise I wonder how leatherman sharpen them in the first place.

I didnt try the slot, but rather used the crude 'file' method I mentioned. It worked ok, but if it was real dull,it would have been a long project.I think this will also made good postings as every one gets theirs out and checks it.There are three of the Micras in my family,so this is not a onetime shot.
thanks.

Hi Guy. As mentioned, if the blades won't open enough, then the way that you did it would be the way I would do it. You might also consider our diamond triangles, expensive, by much quicker on the metal removal.

Sal, thank you. I'm glad I'm on the right track. I've seen some good comments on the diamond triangles. They are on my list for this year.
take care.
