guys,

my everyday user is a 511 and now maybe a rodent solution(or if things work out a Meaner/AD soon) but i dull them pretty fast with hard use. there was a sharpening discussion here a ways back with a video of a guy using a belt grinder? cant remember his name but i guess he in known for hair shaving sharp. My sharpening is OK at best and im trying to improve. Anyone remember the video or the guys name so i can research. tried the search here but no luck.(weak search-fu probably)
 
Was it HornDog? He posts a lot more on the scrapyard forum. He is well known for his edges and calls his work area the third world grind shop. I dont know about videos, but he could probably tell you everything you'd want to know about convex sharpening on a belt sander and how to an effective setup without spending too much money.

I don't get to use mine nearly that much so sandpaper and stones is enough for me
 
Nope, i woulda remembered horndog,lol. It was just a video i was looking for, think it mighta been at an outing as ths guy was showing some folks how to do it...oh well, the search continues.....thanks anyway
 
I remember that vid. It was Jerry Risk at one of the Becker get togethers. Check over at their sub forum.
