I have two Schrade Sharpfingers, one is flat ground and the other is hollow ground....the hollow ground one looks a little nicer, is this a fluke or did they make two grades of the Sharpfinger?

Thanks,

I believe the older ones were hollow, flat later on check your tangs and what they say also the location of the stamp. It may or may not give some hints. LT

The newer one is hollow ground and the older one is flat ground and the the stamps are identical!

Thanks,

Mine's flatground, never seen hollowground ones before. Did they both have brown sawcut delrin handles?

Both have sawcut Delrin handles but the hollowground knife has handle scales that are darker and the sawcut marks are finer.

Just looking at both knives theres no question, the hollow ground knife is much nicer.

I'll try to post a picture of both knives...

Humm unusual the older ones were to me better made. However if they have the same tang they are the same vintage. LT

Thanks for this info. I have Sharpfinger. Great all round blade.

BTW. From one of the "COPS" shows..it's illegal in state of New Mexico to have a sheathed (Sharpfinger was knive involved ) in your car.
Late night fisherman returning home made a rolling stop at stop sign. Sheriff ask driver if he had any knives-guns-drugs in his car. Driver promply handed him his Sharpfinger. Officer thank him and put him under arrest. Sooo sad driver did not know this. How many of us do????

edgeseeker,

Thanks for the info.

Knife laws around the country are sure to raise the ire of many of us in here.
So many out of date and out of touch and obscure regulations I don't dare take anything "special" anywhere with me.

Next time Im in New Mexico the most I'll take with me are ping pong balls and old socks. I'd leave the paddles at home.
