I love the sharpfinger design for skinning deer and such but I want something with better steel than what they are being made out of now. Any suggestions on a good knife with close to the same type of blade design?

You mean like this?

A vintage Shcrade sharpfinger with carbon steel.

RYAN WEEKS.

Google 'ryan weeks sharpfinger' and get ready to be blown away.

IMO one of, if not THE, best interpretation of the classic Sharpfinger design.

+1, there are still plenty around if you are willing to search for them. I picked up several last year from flea markets including one that appears to have never been used or sharpened that I got for less than the current price of the imports.

Damn, eraser everything I typed.

I went with z-wear at 60RC because I wanted amazing edge retention as well as being really close to stainless. It's a quality steel.

For price it's all going to depend on options. Mine cost me between $100-200 and I felt I got a really good price for everything I got. Go ahead and shoot Kuraki an email and I'll see if I can redirect him to this thread.
