sharpfinger vs Mora?

Honestly, I have not used a sharpfinger.. But Looking at them, I think the ergonomics of the Moras are more tailored for bush crash tasks, the scandi grind is what you want for working with wood. Also the sheath being plastic you dont have to worry about water, but the sharpfingers have a leather one.

Which do you prefer for what?

The sharpfinger was my first fixed blade hunting knife as a kid and is what I learned to field dress game with. It is an excellent design for performing that task but that is about it. Mora's are cheap and great to have as a woods/bushcraft type knife but would take a backseat to the sharpfinger as a game knife. As skullker stated scandi grinds are well suited for working with wood. I would never consider choosing between the two as they are so different. Get them both.

I have a Custom Sharpfinger & a Mora but they both are used for different things.! Mora I use in the Kitchen & around when Camping & the Sharpie mainly when I Turkey hunt or on small game.! Both great little cheap Knives & well worth more than they cost ~` & I put Custom Stag Scales on the Sharpfinger as it fits my hand better with bigger Scales.**

Agreed, what are you wanting to accomplish with the blade? That is what you have to ask yourself.

At the price point though, grab them both and get your own data through testing.

Whatever you decide:

If you go for a Sharpfinger get an older USA made one. Costs five times as much but is very much worth it!

I'd go with the Mora 546. It has a good stainless steel (Sandvic) and the blade will work for light bush craft or processing small or medium game.

What steel is schrade using now a days?

The Chinese made one I got before learning better was 7Cr-something.
Quality-wise it is well made for the price, but the steel is "meh".

If you have no issues with Chinese-made knives and sharpening and need a cheap "beat on it user" you might want to try one.
