You welcome..I joint the bladeforums on Feb, Learn so much from friendly people here, I bought a Lansky sharpener few month back, never come close to what Wicked Edge can do.

I got my Sebenza on Feb, never get tired of looking at it, Wish some day I can see the Chris Reeve video.

It's true I bought my first Chris reeve (lg seb 21) in Feb as well and I am completely hooked now. Have 3 lg sebs at the moment (all plain versions of the 21, classic and Regular) working on the small version of each next. There is a CR video pass-around you should sign up. I need to do that as well, I'm sure there's some interesting stuff in there. It's really too bad that Chris has to make his knives so well ;), all my other ones don't measure up anymore and never carry anything else. Oh well I guess its better it happened sooner than later.

Very interesting vid. I need to get me one of those wicked edges for my sebbies. Looks pretty straight forward and hard to mess up. Just what I need for sharpening :p

What base is he using in the video? I thinking of ordering a Wicked Edge system but the base part has me a little perplexed, because I am thinking the cheapest base will do fine for me, but not sure.

If you don't buy a base from Wicked Edge, you can use the included template to drill mounting holes in the base of your choice.
I went to a store to buy a scrap piece of granite. They are going to cut it down & drill the holes for me.

I just wanted to say that he is creating a v edge and not a convex. a convex can only be created with a strop. he does make a nice edge but I think its taking more metal than needed.

If you watch the entire video, you'll see him using a leather strop with diamond paste on the wicked edge to get that final convex edge.

the video I saw shows him make an assortment of different bevels and smoothing them over with the strop to create the convex edge...right?
