can i put grinding 8 inch wheels on this?

Can i use the wheels that already come with this to strop with?

if you want to sharpen knives on a buffer, check out this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=578787 that buffer will work for but cloth wheels are dangerous to sharpen with.

The reccomendation from the manuf. is to put 8" wheels on a 6" grinder, 10" wheels on an 8" grinder, etc., so that you clear the motor housing when you're working the knife.

gangsta965084 you may want to consider the Harbor Freight 6" buffer to use with the 8" wheels. One advantage other the the huge price difference is that the HF buffer provides a greater distance between wheels. HF has 20% coupons going most the time so you can pick up one of these for less than half of the one you linked.
