Sharpmaker – how to use it ?

I recently booth spyderco sharpmaker. I heard that this system is very easy to use, so I didn’t care much about manuals or instructional video (anyway I don’t have VCR or TV)

But after spending last 3 hours staring at it.. I still can’t figure out how to use it.

So maybe someone could direct me to some site that could explain how to use sharp maker or any triangle sharpening system.

Get real, watch the video or read the book.

The manual is all it took to get the basics down. The rest of it is really experience. You can learn some stuff by reading around on BladeForums, but nothing beats actually going and using the system on a beater knife (or maybe inexpensive kitchen knives).

Just read the pages 4-7 in the manual (if yours is the same as mine), that'll get you started.

Yep. I don’t have TV or VCR, but not because I can’t afford, simply I don’t use them. It’s a lifestyle thing

Same here, I wouldn't have a TV in this house if not for my roommates and their TV addiction. Just doesn't appeal to me, I haven't watched the video just because... I don't like the TV. I guess the Internet has me spoiled with its interactivity. Instead of just passively learning, it's more of an active (and rapid) type of learning here at BFC.
