Sharpmaker 203 Convert To 204?

Is it POSSIBLE for me to buy JUST the base and slide-on cover, of a Sharpmaker 204, in order to "convert" my "old" Sharpmaker 203 into a 204? (The four ceramic stones, and the two brass safety rods of my model 203 are in excellent condition.).

I would like to be able to use both of the two different angles of the model 204 Sharpmaker, that the model 203 lacks, as well as the increased stability of the wider base of the 204, AND the ability to use two stones on the bottom of the 204 base as a "bench-stone"...

Glockman - the stones are slightly different sizes. Enough that it would change the angles quite a bit. sorry. Didn't plan it that way...but think of it like trying to get Ford to give you new 2000 body to fit your 1997 motor?

you could wait until your mate wants/needs and new pair of shoes?

204 is a marked improvement...mine arrived yesterday, the old one is going to live at the Opera House for all them's what bought my Spydercollection. C'mon Dann you cheap bastid, get yer wallet out!

If you shop around a bit, you should be able to get it for a good price. I got mine for around $40, so I decided to throw in a little extra for a big bottle of tuf-glide and a Marine tuf cloth. I must say, it was quite a nice package!

Guys, I paid four times as much for both the 203 and 204. Both are EXCELLENT sharperners!!

I sold off my GATCO sharperners to make room in the knife drawer for more spydies and parting with these babies would be a heartbreak affair... Ummm, I could surely use a ballistic nylon pouch to go with the 203 though... *hee-hee!*
