I have seen mention in several threads of some diamond sleeves being available at one time or another for this particular sharpener system. Does anyone know where to find them?

Yup, I believe those are the speed sleeves. Im not sure they make them anymore. As good as Spyderco stuff is, the diamond sleeves were one thing that just were not that good IMO. They worked ok for a bit, but they got worn smooth pretty quick.

They are long gone. Spyderco is working on a replacement but there is nothing available yet.

The pair I have is about 10 years old and still works pretty good. I use it for recutting blade edges to match the angle of the sharpmaker. I keep them wet with water as I use them and that makes them last longer.

10- 4 Dennis. Sal Glesser is still researching a good maker to produce them again as they were/ is a popular item. Reports are that the discontinued ones did not hold up well due to the imbedded diamond dust flaking off with use. My sleeves are at least 7 years old but I' ve only used them to reprofile blade edges and they are still holding up well. I used them dry, but I may add some light oil in the future. Perhaps they will last longer.
