I bought a pair when they first came out. Absolutely LOVED them, but it seemed like they lost thier diamonds and were worn down to bare-metal / steel in no time.

Sent them back to Spyderco under warrantee, and they replaced them -- no problem -- with a warning: BE GENTLE! Don't use too much pressure! Light presure only. Don't man-handle them, etc. Really stressed it.

So I've been REALLY careful with these, but I swear -- I feel like I'm back to bare-metal again. The diamonds are gone.

Anyone else seeing this? I _really_ don't feel like I'm "doing it wrong".

Hi Mike, please send them back, please call it to my attention.

Naturally the goal is for longevity. It seems that Diamond plating is greatly affected by the "strike" and "stroke" of the edge hitting the diamond plated surface, at least on a Sharpmaker, which induces quicker motion. We are constantly seeking more effective methods of sticking the diamonds to our steel triangles. Getting back the worn piece helps with our R&D.
