Credit goes to member dr_fosg8 for the idea. I just took it a step further and made it easily adjustable to match your particular chisel grind. I already had the woodvise press made for my kydex bending hobby. As pictured, the single rod is at 30*.

very cool! I have always read that EKI does not have a specific angle they shoot for.. What angle are you going with ?

Very cool idea. Knife nuts like us really get creative when we want things to be 'just perfect', it amazes me; I wish I had the wellbeing to still do things like this.

I think my particular knife is at 35*, but I need to double check it with the Sharpie trick. I'm the 2nd user so it is probably not at the original angle.

Yeah alot of my emersons are near 35* stock I believe but I was checking with a manual angle finder. ...I use the sharpy trick when stropping but never tried it with a sharpmaker... Let us know how it comes out. Thanks

I guess it is crazy that my 13 came at almost 16 exact. No wonder it cuts like a crazy sob.
Very cool picture. I use a similar method for blades over 20deg. per side.

Hmm i just checked my sheepdog bowie and its right at 16 as well. I dont have a 13 yet! I also checked my chisel ground tanto model eki and its at 30 and my reliant is 32 ...but i am using an anolog device ...i could be way off! Seems though that v grinds are less of an edge angle...

Very cool. I posted in another thread about using a similar setup but without the precision and repeatability you have. Not to thread hijack but I finally gave up and got an edge pro apex. I can get about 34 on it.
