I am thinking about getting a sharpmaker for my izula.

question is is the sharpmaker capable of getting the izula as sharp as the factory edge? this is the sharpest knife I have ever had(shaves hair with no pressure). that may or may no be impressive to some of you guys, but I am very impressed with it

from what I've read it doesn't look like a can go wrong with the sharpmaker but I just want to do a last minute check before I purchase it

I'll put it this way, I sharpen my izula on the sharpmaker and with little effort it gets even sharper than the factory edge.

The sharpmaker will let you put sharper than factory edges on the izula in five minutes or less.

thats what I was hoping to hear:thumbup:

and if anyone reading happens to know, the izula has a factory 40 degree edge right? so I should sharpen on the 40 degree setting

You're going to want to sharpen on the 40 degree setting most of the time, but eventually the edge is going to thicken up - so I spend some time on the 30 degree setting after every 5 sharpenings.

So say I sharpen 10 times. The first 4 will be on 40, then I'll back bevel at 30 for the 5th sharpening, then for the rest I'm back to 40.
