I have an idea for a little device that will stop you rounding you tips on the sharpmaker

Basically it clips onto the spine of the blade so that the "T" is in line with the tip which hits the rod and stops the tip coming off it

Here's a quick pic i just drew:

I was thinking that there should also be a pivot somewhere so you can tilt the "T" up so that when you tilt the blade the "T" will hit the rod sqaure

Hope you like it

Thanks

Don't know, have not tried it. However, I think you should build one, test one, and perhaps patent one before you present it to the public. Many people would be happy to rip off (steal) a good idea, such is the American way.

I think it would work but isn't it easier to just rotate the knife when you get to the tip to hold the angle constant. If you run off you are putting a tiny micro-bevel on the very end of the tip which doesn't seem like a big deal to me. What you don't want to do is thin the tip compared to the main part of the blade.
