After about 7 years of owning and loving Spyderco's knives, I finally got a Sharpmaker. I've been using DMT stones for nearly the entire time and never saw a need for the Sharpmaker. Then I got a Kershaw Boa in a trade and it's not easy to sharpen one of those on an inch wide stone. So I traded for the mighty Sharpmaker and received it today. It is amazing. To anyone who doubts, just get it. It's a Spyderco and it lives up to the name.
I may not use it for all my sharpening, but after less than 12 hours, I already consider it an indispensible addition to my collection. It's quick, easy, effective and nearly idiot-proof.
