I am pretty sure this is how it works, but you tell me.

With the Lansky sharpening system the angles shown are only the half angles right? Whereas the Sharpmaker agles are the whole angle?

This means that 15 on the Lansky is the same as the 30 on the Sharpmaker and 20 is the same as 40 right?

Just making sure.

This is an interesting question, but may be difficult to come up with the correct answer. I would assume that the angle of the V of the stones is what is measured on the Sharpmaker. However I am not so sure of how the angle is measured on the lansky.

On the lansky, is the angle measured from the edge of the clamp, or do they measure the angle from the edge of an average blade when it sits in the clamp? Different blade widths and where they are placed within the clamp on the lansky can cause a dramatic change in this angle, making it difficult to come up with a direct comparision of Lansky angle vs Sharpmaker.

This may be an over analysis of the issue, but I have always had difficulty matching angles reported from the makers of various pieces of sharpening equipment.

FBF, I ponder the question. The wider the blade gets (the further the edge gets from the end of the clamp) should decrease the deg. of edge bevel even when using the same slot in the clamp.

Where are you Cliff? Help us!
