Sharpmaker or Lansky... and why?

I have a Lansky sharpening kit that works great on most knives. I'm not able to get an edge near a clean and uniform doing it by hand.

However, the Spyderco Sharpmaker seems to be the most popular kit far and away. No doubt it's a great sharpening kit but is it superior to the Lansky in some way?

Thanks for your answers.

The sharpmaker is easier to use for quick touch ups. for really dulled knives or blades that need to be reprofiled the lansky will work better.

I have a Sharpmaker and a Gatco system. I agree with flylock. The Sharpemaker is good for touch up ad everyday sharpening while the Gatco or Lansky will do better for serious resharpening and reprofiling

I think Sharpmaker is popular because most consider it the best bang for you buck. However, I would love to have a Lansky in addition but cannot afford it atm :(
