Sharpmaker question -Sal??

First of all, if there is anyone who hasn't got a Sharpmaker yet, stop reading and go out and buy one!!

My question: knowing that ceramic materials are brittle, I am a bit worried about packing my Sharpmaker rods in a soft case among my other stuff. Is there any chance of breaking one of the rods if for example, someone sits on them by mistake?
Or, for another example, could I snap a rod in two if I tried using my bare hands? Bottom line: should I search for a hard plastic case or go ahead and pack them in a soft pouch anyway?

Thanks

Just my past experience, I take my Sharpmaker with me on all Boy Scout trips without incident. Besides if you do break a rod they are cheap.

Costas - The cordura case that comes with the tool has a sleeve to keep the stones from hitting each other. that would be the main danger of breakage. I don't think you could break one of the white stones with your hands, maybe one of the gray ones, but they are quite tough. The cordura case should work just fine for travel. Like copfish, I have taken my Sharpmaker all over the world in the soft case.
