hey i was thinking about buying a sharp maker and i was wondering if you could set up the triangles so that the flat side of the stone is you sharpen the bald on instead of the corners of the stones.

i'd also like to know if spyderco ever came out with the courser diamond triangles (or possibly their very fine surfaces too

Hi KF,
I just got one of those for Christmas and if I understand your question, yes, you can rotate the ceramic sticks so that you are using the flats instead of the corners. In fact, the standard procedure starts with you using the corners/thin sides of the sticks for coarse shaping and then rotating to the flats for finer polishing.

The post above is correct. I think the sharpmaker is the best sharpener on the market too. I am telling you the truth! GET ONE TODAY.

I have used the sharpmaker regularly for a couple years. I have been pleased up to this time.
It will do a good job on most anything I throw at it.
