Sharpmaker replacement stones

I bought a medium sharpmaker replacement stone on Amazon, and when I got it I noticed that it is slightly longer (maybe 1/4") than the stones that came with my sharpmaker. Is this a legit replacement stone?

The Amazon stone is on the bottom.

I really can't imagine them being fake. Do the new ones otherwise feel the same as the original rods? They still fit in the case, correct?

I broke one of my medium stones and ordered a new one through Amazon. It came in Spyderco packaging and was the exact size. I think there were some available that were not Spyderco rods. Maybe you got a non Spyderco rod?

Maybe. Mine was in a plastic tube. Amazon gave me a refund without having to return it. Weird.
